1. About These Terms
These terms govern the relationship between Wela Thong ("the studio", "we", "us") and any person ("you", "the owner") who brings a watch or timepiece to us for assessment, servicing, or repair. By leaving a timepiece with us or requesting a service, you confirm that you have read and accepted these terms.
Our studio is located at 27 Nimmanhaemin Road, Suthep, Chiang Mai 50200, Thailand. You may reach us by phone at +66 81 472 6395 or by email at [email protected].
2. Accepting a Timepiece for Service
When you leave a watch with us, we issue a written receipt describing the piece and noting any visible condition at the time of handover. Please review this receipt and raise any concerns before you leave, as it forms the basis of our shared understanding of the item's starting condition.
We reserve the right to decline a service request if we assess that a piece is beyond reasonable repair, that we lack the appropriate parts, or that proceeding would present undue risk to the watch. In such cases, we return the piece to you without charge and explain our reasoning.
3. Assessment and Scope of Work
Before any substantive work begins, we carry out an initial assessment. If additional work becomes apparent once a watch is opened, we will contact you to discuss the revised scope. No additional work is carried out without your agreement. You are free to authorise only part of the recommended work, though we will note any limitations this may place on the outcome.
Quoted prices are indicative. A final price is confirmed once the assessment is complete and agreed scope is clear. We do not proceed beyond assessment without written or verbal confirmation from you.
4. Pricing and Payment
All prices are quoted in Thai Baht (฿) and are inclusive of VAT where applicable under Thai law. Payment is due upon collection of the timepiece. We accept cash and standard bank transfer. Receipts are provided for all transactions.
If a watch is not collected within 60 days of notification that the work is complete, we reserve the right to apply a reasonable storage charge. Pieces left uncollected for more than 180 days may, after reasonable attempts to contact you, be treated as abandoned in accordance with Thai law.
5. Turnaround and Collection
Turnaround times given at intake are estimates, not commitments. Servicing older or more complex pieces may take longer than anticipated, and we will keep you informed if timelines shift. We do not charge additional fees for reasonable delays on our part.
When your timepiece is ready, we will contact you using the details you provided. Collection is from our studio during opening hours: Monday to Saturday, 10:00–18:00. We do not offer postal or courier services at this time.
6. Liability and Care of Timepieces
We treat every piece in our care with the same attentiveness we would give our own. We take reasonable precautions against loss, damage, or theft while a watch is on our premises. However, we cannot accept liability for pre-existing hidden faults that become apparent only during service, nor for deterioration inherent in very aged materials.
In the unlikely event that a piece suffers damage attributable to our handling, we will discuss a fair resolution with you. Our liability in any such instance is limited to the cost of the service carried out, unless a higher amount is specifically agreed in writing beforehand.
We strongly recommend informing your insurer before leaving a high-value piece with any workshop, including ours.
7. Parts and Materials
Where replacement parts are needed, we source them from reputable suppliers and will let you know the origin and type before proceeding. For vintage or rare pieces, we discuss options with you before ordering any parts. Replaced parts are returned to you upon request unless they are too small or damaged to be safely stored.
8. Post-Service Queries
If you have concerns about a service after collecting your watch, please contact us within 30 days. We will review the matter carefully. Our aim is always for you to leave — and remain — satisfied with our work. We do not offer refunds on completed services as a matter of course, but we are committed to addressing genuine concerns in good faith.
9. Intellectual Property
All content on this website — including text, photographs, and layout — belongs to Wela Thong. You may not reproduce, adapt, or redistribute any part of it without our written permission. Service descriptions, pricing information, and workshop notes are original to the studio.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or in applicable law. The current version will always be available on this page. For services already in progress, the terms in place at intake apply unless we agree otherwise with you directly.
11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Kingdom of Thailand. Any disputes arising from our services will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Chiang Mai Province, unless otherwise agreed.
